XL has a vast range of custom built PPU's (Portable Production Units) suitable for every need from the largest world tour to a small venue with limited space. Here is a selection of our most popular.

Mini HD PPU

Our compact but powerful SD/HD portable production unit is supplied in two small wheeled flight cases, and contains everything you need to produce a high definition record or IMAG presentation. With the ability to connect two computer graphics sources without the need for complicated external ‘scalers’ this system is ideal for small corporate shows or tours where space and time are limited.

Midi HD PPU

This is a very versatile 8 camera PPU utilising the new Panasonic AV-HS450 desk.
This compact and powerful desk provides 16 inputs, six with colour correcting and four with up/down conversion. The switcher supports HD and SD formats and together with its built in dual screen multi-viewer monitoring, it can provide a small but neat system. The directors rack foot print has been drastically reduced and turned into a more comfortable position to work at, yet still provides full monitoring of all sources, including frame stores on two large 30" monitors.

HD Flyaway

These state of the art broadcast HD compact flyaway system can work as either SD, HD or both using the onboard mixer scalers. These systems are based around a 'standard' 8 camera and VT rack format with a comprehensive video and audio monitoring.

Comms is provided by the Telex Zeus which provides local panel comms and 4 wires for external communications. Audio is available in analogue and digital domain via the well optioned DM1000 audio desk.

The production team are able to view everything via a pair of 47" HD LCD screens which can show anything from 2 to 32 pictures in SD or HD.
